By making an instagram filter for The Space 5X3 the lines between the “real” and “virtual” world were blurred even more. By beating the carpet, people clean it of dirt and dust. By choosing a manual and labor intense way, Nicoleta is questioning our social configurations from a romanian pop-culture perspective.

Rug beating is an activity done mostly outside, a thing that in pandemic times seems rather forbidden. All the germs and the filth coming out of it are the things that we really try to avoid.
